I completed my medical doctor training from one of the top medical universities in China prior to my immigration to New Zealand. Then I completed my Master degree in Psychology with distinction and Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Psychological Practice in New Zealand. I am a registered Psychologist at New Zealand Psychologist Board and a Clinical Practitioner at the Drug and Alcohol Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa–New Zealand (DAPAANZ). I have approximately 15 years of extensive clinical experiences as a counsellor and a psychologist working for WDHB and private practise. I have worked with people from wide age groups (from children to older adults) and at various settings (individual, couple, family and group). The counselling areas of my special interest are emotional regulation (e.g., depression, anxiety, anger), interpersonal relationship issues (e.g., couple, parenting, family relationships), holistic wellbeing and addictive behaviour or substance misuse issues (e.g., excessive alcohol intake, illicit substance misuse or sleeping medication misuse).
